Mr. Travalena toured and appeared in Las Vegas and on TV frequently throughout his forty year-career. He died Sunday afternoon after a seven-year battle with cancer, according to CNN.

A regular on The Tonight Show, impersonator and comedian Fred Travalena has died. He was 66.

Born in New York City, he put his voice talents to work first in episodes of “The Jetsons” before joining the cast of “The ABC Comedy Hour” in 1972 in a group of impressionists that included Rich Little, Frank Gorshin and George Kirby.

Because an Alan King roast of Sammy Davis Jr. was part of the one season run, Travalena was often called back for roasts and standup bits on late night and other variety shows. A mainstay of the “Mike Douglas Show,” he was called “Mr. Everybody” by David Letterman.

Travalena also kept his hand in animated cartoons, from “The Smurfs” “Scooby Doo,” “Shirt Tales,” “Dragon’s Lair,” and “The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!” in which he portrayed Elvis.

According to CNN, Mr. Travalena was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2002 and prostate cancer in 2003.

Private services will be held this week, with a public memorial service to be announced later.
