“American Idol” hopeful Crystal Bowersox has been taken to the hospital for medical issues, causing a switcheroo in this week’s “Idol” performance schedule.

According to some sources , Crystal Bowersox who is a current top 20 contestant on Fox’s hit talent show, “American Idol,” has been rushed to the hospital due to complications with her diabetes. She’s currently recovering from it.

Crystal’s mother said, “Crystal is doing OK and should be fine for tomorrow.”

Due to medical issues which would prevent Crystal Bowersox from performing tonight, the 10 male semifinalists will perform this evening, and the 10 female semifinalists will perform tomorrow night.
The last-minute switch isn’t expected to give the girls an unfair advantage with extra rehearsal time; the boys are said to be rehearsing for tonight’s performance.

Bowersox was one of the few contestants to receive praise during last week’s Season 10 live opener, singing Alanis Morissette’s ‘Hand in My Pocket’.
