Amy Beck,  a teacher in Burbank, surrendered to police and confessed she had a sexual relationship with a male student. Beck surrendered herself on Monday, March 8, because she was overcome by guilt.

Beck, a teacher from David Starr Jordan Middle School,gave herself to police on this afternoon. Amy Beck is a 33 year old teacher, and the student in question is 14. Burbank police report that Amy Beck was  overcome by guilt over what she had done, so she turned herself in.

Beck has been charged with 5 counts of unlawful sex with a minor under the age of 16.Police interviewed the boy “and confirmed that the acts did occur” between March and September of last year, the sergeant said.

She was booked on suspicion of lewd or lascivious acts with a child of 14 or 15 years and was held on $400,000 bail, said Burbank police Sgt. Robert Quesada.

“She said she had sexual relations with one of her students,” Quesada said.

Amy Beck resigned from her school last Friday, March 5.
