mariah carey apologizes after memorial

Mariah Carey, like so many of us went through a range of emotions at Michael Jackson’s memorial, but she had it tougher than you or I, as she had to perform as well.
Mariah Carey wishes she had done a better job performing Jackson 5’s biggest hit, “I’ll Be There,” at Michael Jackson’s memorial Tuesday at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.
Mariah Carey has apologized for her less than perfect performance of ‘I’ll Be There’ at Michael Jackson Tuesday’s public memorial service. She said on her Twitter page:
“Trying to sing today was basically impossible for me. I could barely keep myself from crying. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to pull it together and really do it right, but I was literally choked up when I saw him there in front of me. One thing I know is, we will never really have to say goodbye to MJ. His legacy lives on through his music and the millions of people he inspired with his timeless music. He will be forever in our hearts.”
NBC Los Angeles reports that the Diva wrote, “Just recovering from the day. Still filled w/sadness as we listen to KJLH in LA (Stevie Wonder’s radio station) paying tribute to MJ.”
She added that trying to sing was impossible, as she was keeping herself from crying. She also apologized for not being able to pull herself together, as she admitted to being choked up when she saw Jackson’s casket in front of her.
