It wouldn’t be a quality weekend without one fake celebrity death, and one of the golden oldies claiming Miley Cyrus is dead has resurfaced.

Rumors that Miley Cyrus died in a tragic car accident in the early morning hours of Friday,are not true. The rumors were startedby someone who apparently hasn’t spent a lot of time in school. The Miley Cyrus dead rumor took off from there and took on a life of its own – so to speak.

Miley is said to have been struck by a large truck that ran a red light traveling at a speed of about 55 mph.

I’m hoping that the punks that started the rumor are from Europe, since they spelled ‘center’ the European way, ‘centre’. But that’s hard to tell considering that so many other words are misspelled.Like every similar incarnation of the rumor previously, it simply isn’t true.

Cyrus isn’t the first celebrity who’s had to read about their own “death” on the Internet, however.  In October, rumors spread that Kanye West had died in a car accident, as well.Earlier this month, Miley Cyrus was voted the “Worst Celebrity Influence” of 2009 by kids aged 9-15 on JSYK.com (Just So You Know), AOL’s pop culture blog.

Miley Cyrus is not dead, Miley Cyrus has not died, end of story.
