Former Major League Baseball star Sammy Sosa sure looks different lately. We don’t recall him having bleached skin back in his late 1990s, home run heyday.He has been appearing in photo’s more ‘light skinned’ recently, and has also been compared to Michael Jackson, as his skin has seemed to be getting lighter just like the late superstar.

Mike Penner has posted an article titled “Sosa suffers from too mush exposure” in The Los Angeles Times Sports section that discusses the situation.

Gradual changes that have recently occurred has made many people question what is really going on, and after the steroid accusations in 2003, the question that is on everyones lips is “Why is this change occurring 6 years later?”

Many have posited, although they cannot prove it, that steroid use could dramatically increase an individual’s likelihood of becoming symptomatic with vitiligo.

That rare chronic disorder, which causes cells responsible for skin pigmentation to stop functioning, has gained much notoriety because of Michael Jackson.

Sosa has come out of the shadows and commented on these allegations claiming that his constant exposure to the sun caused him to become concerned over the health of his skin, according to RightCelebrity.com. But after looking at the photo’s Sosa was also surprised and said “If you saw me in person, you would be surprised. When you see me in person, it is not going to seem like the picture.”

The Chicago Tribune quotes Rebecca Polihronis, an acquaintance of Sosa, who claims that that “he is going through a rejuvenation process for his skin.”. She said “He’s not trying to be Michael Jackson. He is going through a rejuvenation process for his skin. Women have it all of the time. He was surprised he came out looking so white. I thought it was a body double. Part of (the photo appearance) is just the lighting.”
