Former NASCAR team owner Ray Evernham has married race car driver Erin Crocker (FSY). A representative for the Evernham says the two were married Wednesday in a small ceremony at the Southpoint Hotel.

Ray Evernham and Erin Crocker exchanged vows in front of immediate family members and friends. Ray and Erin aren’t a soap-opera story for NASCAR anymore. Erin drives sprint cars, and in lieu of the honeymoon, she will spend the weekend racing in Knoxville, Iowa.

But on Wednesday she was a beautiful bride, proud to be walking down the aisle to the man of her dreams. Racing and all that the couple endured a few years ago were well in their rearview mirror. The loving smiles they exchanged said all anybody needed to know.

Three years ago, Ray was sole owner of what was then Evernham Motorsports. When he began dating Erin, his company’s developmental driver, it became a story.

Crocker was a development driver for Evernham until the two began a romantic relationship. Evernham, currently a NASCAR analyst for ESPN, sold majority interest in his race team two seasons ago to George Gillett Jr., and now holds just a small share of what has since merged into Richard Petty Motorsports.

Evernham won three championships as crew chief for Jeff Gordon (FSY) before moving into ownership.
