Edward Kennedy Dies at Age 77
Senator Edward Kennedy has died after a 15-month battle with brain cancer.He was 77.
Kennedy, the last surviving brother of the legendary Kennedy dynasty, passed away late Tuesday at his home in Hyannis Port, Mass.
President Barack Obama hailed Kennedy as “one of the greatest United States Senators of our time.
“And the Kennedy family has lost their patriarch, a tower of strength and support through good times and bad,” Obama said in a statement. “Our hearts and prayers go out to them today–to his wonderful wife, Vicki, his children Ted Jr., Patrick and Kara, his grandchildren and his extended family.”
He is survived by his wife Victoria Reggie Kennedy, sister Jean Kennedy Smith and his three children Edward Kennedy Jr., Kara Kennedy and Patrick Kennedy with ex-wife Joan Kennedy

Meanwhile , his ex-wife Joan Kennedy married Ted Kennedy on November 29, 1958 in New York. She was lovingly called “the dish” by his brother-in-law JFK because of her good looks and sense of style. She had three children with the late senator; Kara Kennedy Allen, Edward Moore Kennedy, Jr., and Patrick Joseph Kennedy.
She was born in Riverdale, New York to Henry Wiggin Bennett, Jr. and Virginia Joan Stead. She went to Manhattanville College, Sacred Heart Academy. She was also a model as a teen, and did campaigns for television advertising.
Ted Kennedy was considered as one of the most powerful and influential senators in American History and one of the three brothers whose political triumphs and personal tragedies captivated the nation for decades.
