It seems like everyday some celeb is chopping their hair off. Just when Ciara thought she was going to get some shine, the First Lady steps in to take the spotlight.

The first lady, who is much more stylish that our President and his mom jeans, shows off her new bob haircut at the celebration of country music at the White House yesterday.

And judging by crowd reactions, it was well received.The First Lady’s new hair-style has bangs that are swept behind the ear, with the sides and back hanging much shorter than the rest. It looks to be straightened or blown straight with a hairdryer. It definitely gives her an up-to-date look, and adds a fresh touch to her already stylish persona.This, coupled with her already impeccable style, only goes to show why it is she, and not her husband, who has the higher favorability ratings.

The event, which featured performing country stars such as Alison Krauss, Charley Pride, Union Station and Brad Paisley as well as a morning workshop for young teens from Pennsylvania, Virginia and Tennessee, was the second in a series of music and arts promotion events Michelle has started since entering the White House. The first such event focused on jazz and her third is planned for the fall and will promote classical music.
