Atheletes sometimes don’t just take drugs for performance enhancement. But sometimes, like regular folks, for recreational purposes as well.
Still remember figure skater Nicole Bobek? She won the 1995 U.S. championship while training at the Detroit Skating Club under Richard Callaghan.
She has been busted on drug charges. Nicole Bobek is 31 years old and she made her first appearance in court on Monday regarding the drug bust.
Basically, Nicole is from Jersey but last week she was arrested from Florida. In Hudson County. she was trying to sell the drugs.
Sam DeLuca, was Bobek’s lawyer and entered a a not guilty plea for Nicole.She is being held on a bail of $200,000. If convicted she probably faces up to 10 years in prison.
According to nj.com, prosecutor Edward DeFazio said Bobek “was actively involved in the upper echelon in this thing.”
DeFazio said that with her help we caught a dozen more people involved in the ring. He said that it is yet to confirm that whether she used the drug or involved in the distribution business for the gold.Bobek’s name had not been released then because she hadn’t been located and arrested until last week, according to the NJ.com report.
